The North Dakota Disc Golf State Tournament

Alas! The Capitol Course is not to be. After swimming through enough red tape to see the finish line, we were denied at the last moment. A new walking trail being built through the grounds was our chief tripping point. I will not completely give up on it though, maybe some day in distant future...
The State Tourney is still alive and well though! Pro, Masters, and Advanced will be playing a much altered 18 hole Sibley Course. About 9 of the holes will play as they are and the rest will be frankensteined into something new. There will also be 2-3 completely brand new holes. More information will be on the way.

2008 North Dakota State Tournament

     Here is the status of our ND State Tournament. As of July 25th, I would say there is better than average chance that we will hold the tournament at the State Capital grounds. The 18 hole layout would be for the Pro, Masters, and Advanced divisions. If this does not work out, the tourney will move to Sibley with a 18 hole championship layout. Where we have the tournament hotel will depend on the location. There has been a lot of red tape and delays with the Capitol Course. I feel the caliber of course we can field at this location is worth the effort. Elevation, tight and wide open shots, and the vegetation will make this course special. I will know Tuesday July 29th whether or not this will happen.
     All Novice, Junior, and Women players will compete at Hillside Disc Golf Course. There will two rounds of 18 holes played. Round one will be regular tees and round two will be alternates.
     That being said, the State Tournament will go on. Money has been raised. There will be a generous players package, meals, and drinks provided. Labor Day Weekend has been our State Tourney weekend for a couple of years now, so I hope you ND players have set that weekend aside. Talk to you soon!

Two Rivers Open in on!

The Two Rivers Open in on! Let us extend our thanks to Charles and Byron who have for some mysterious reason decided to take on the thankless and unforgivable task of tournament director. "It costs too much. This format blows! I could do a better job. Did I leave the iron on?" We will not be serving any cheese with your whine, so show up, shut up, hurl some plastic, tell tales of missed putts, thank those who put in the work while you put in the play, and enjoy!

Two Rivers Open canceled!

The Two Rivers Open has for the moment been canceled. Our td has bowed out due to burnout and lack of support for his tourneys. I fully agree with and support his decision. The need right now is for Jamestown disc golfers to step up and meet the challenge of running a tourney. There is work that needs to done at the Island course and even more work in setting up and running the tourney. Hopefully in the next couple weeks we can come up with a solution and move forward with the tour.

Badlands Open and Bismarck Open swap dates!

     Attention disc golfers! The Badlands Open and the Bismarck Open will be swapping dates. The Badlands Open will be on Saturday June 14th and the Bismarck Open will be on Sunday June 15th. Both tourneys will be PDGA sanctioned, so if you haven't renewed your membership run over to the PDGA site and do so.  There is a $10 rebate for all PDGA members. You can join and support the NDDGA at either event for $10. There is a $3 fee to all non NDDGA members at our enents.
     The Badlands Open will be played at the Patterson Lake course in Dickenson. There will be doubles Friday night at 7:00 pm. Two rounds of 21 or 24 holes for the Pros, Masters, and Advanced; one round for other divisions. Pro $50 Masters $40 Advanced $40 Intermediate/Rec $25. Lunch provided. Register Friday 12:00 - 8:00 or Saturday morning 7:00 - 8:30 (mountain time). NDDGA 1x points and PDGA C-tier event.
     The Bismarck Open will be played at Sibley Disc Golf Course. Two rounds of 24 holes. Pro $40 Masters $35 Advanced $30 Novice $25 Women $20 Junior $15. Register at Sibley 8:00 - 9:30. NDDGA 1x points and PDGA C-tier event.
