2 new courses is Beulah Area

Postby DWN » Thu Jun 17, 2010 6:03 pm

Just finished the design work on two new courses in the Beulah area:

Implementation is in progress - both should be in the ground by July 4th weekend or sooner.
Both courses are recreational in skill level, but have very equitable mix of lefty, righty and straight shots.

Details:

Riverside Park (south end of Beulah near ball golf course, in a very well maintained park).
Similar to Klaus park but more trees, tighter alleys.
12 holes (discatchers). Single pins for now but several holes have been designed for future harder pins and/or tees. Very good potential in this park for much tougher holes and ample room for expansion should the opportunity arise.
Concrete tees - to be constructed later this summer.
Course length ~ 3000' (250' average).
4 holes < 200'
5 holes 200-300'
3 holes > 300'

Beulah Bay Campground Course (about 15 minutes north of Beulah on Lake Sakakawea)
Very short but a good mix of open and tight shots. Only 1 hole over 300'
9 discatcher baskets. Natural tees.
Course Length 2100' (about 220' average).
Not much room for expansion, was designed around periphery of a heavily used campground and is primarily for family / recreational golfers.

Riverside Park course in Beulah update:

Baskets are in the ground and course is mowed and playable.
Signature hole is #2: ~ 390' gauntlet shot through several double sets of trees.

Beulah Bay course - not in yet.
